Job description

​Our client, a prominent housing association based in Croydon, is at the forefront of providing quality housing solutions and community support. They are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Manager to lead their IT department on a hybrid working basis. This pivotal role involves steering the IT strategy in alignment with the organisation’s goals, managing IT resources, and facilitating change to meet evolving business needs. The salary for this role is up to £60,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.

Role Overview

As the IT Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading the IT department, ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective technology services. You will be responsible for developing and implementing IT strategies, managing the IT budget, overseeing IT projects, and ensuring the security of IT systems. Your leadership will foster an environment of continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that supports the organisation's objectives. Lead the IT department in delivering high-quality technology solutions.

  • Drive organisational change initiatives, ensuring the effective adoption of new technologies and processes. Champion change, mitigating resistance and inspiring staff to embrace new ways of working.

  • Lead, develop, and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. Ensure team alignment with the organisation’s vision and objectives.

  • Oversee the delivery of IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements. Apply best practices in project management and agile methodologies.

  • Manage the IT budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to projects and operations. Deliver cost-effective solutions that provide value to the organisation.

  • Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems, data, and infrastructure. Develop and implement policies and procedures that comply with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver IT services that meet these needs. Act as a key advisor on technology matters.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in IT management, preferably within the housing or non-profit sector.

  • Demonstrable experience in leading change management initiatives and inspiring teams through transformation.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.

  • Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and cybersecurity principles.

  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing IT budgets.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.

  • A strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISM) are highly desirable.
