We are proud to be partnering with a multiple award winning Local Council in the West Midlands, who are looking to appoint a Health & Safety Manager to manage their waste depots across the city.

This will be a temporary six month position based in the West Midlands, with hybrid working and a daily rate of £350 per day.

The ideal candidate must be NEBOSH qualified, have experience of working with depots and hold a full UK driving license.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety policies in line with regulations and best practices
• Conducting regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and carrying out safety audits to ensure compliance
• Providing health and safety training to staff and supporting them on practices such as PPE use and emergency procedures
• Investigating and reporting on incidents and accidents, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and regulations
• Ensuring the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste materials in accordance with regulations
• Overseeing the safe operation and maintenance of all depot equipment (vehicles, machinery, tools)

Experience required:

• NEBOSH qualified
• Experience working with depots
• Hold a full UK driving license
• Council experience is beneficial

Working hours:

• 37 hours per week
• Monday to Friday
