Job description
Our client, a charity supporting young people based in Birmingham, is currently recruiting for a Governance Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled Governance Officer with relevant sector experience, looking for a step up into a management level position!
The role is due to start immediately and the salary in the region of £29,000 - £32,000, subject to experience.
Duties will include (but not limited to):
Identifying and reporting to the Board on best practice in governance, including liaison with the relevant Regulators, Charity Commission and Companies House or their successor bodies
Developing and maintaining a Governance Excellence Plan, and supporting and advising the Executive Directors and Board on all areas of governance improvement
Providing and arranging for briefings to the Executive Directors, Senior Leadership Team and Board members on key issues
Ensuring that the organisation works in accordance with a comprehensive governance framework which conforms with the regulatory Code of Governance
Working with the Policy Review Manager and the Company Secretary to ensure that the policy framework is regularly reviewed, updated and understood by staff and others, with arrangements in place to monitor compliance
Line managing the Governance Administrator
Experience required:
Governance experience within the non-profit sector
Partnering and advising senior management
