Job description

​We are currently partnering with a leading Housing Association based in the Home Counties, who are recruiting for a Fire Safety Surveyor to join their growing team on a fixed term contract for 18 months.

Our client is proud to be continuing their growth as a Social Housing provider and striving to be a great landlord to their residents and local communities.

This is a full-time position with a salary of £58,000 (pending a further review in April), our client is keen for somebody to start as soon as possible.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Acting as contract administrator for the FRA remedials contracts, including undertaking valuations and making payments associated with completed works, ensuring works are delivered on time and measured against clearly defined success parameters

  • Ensuring that all regulatory inspections in relation to fire doors are undertaken on time and ensure that records are kept fully up to date

  • Responsible for collecting all data and certification associated with completed works and for ensuring that this information is added to the asset database and compliance monitoring systems

  • Reporting to the Compliance Team on all matters relating to fire safety

  • Keeping up to date and informed on regulation changes, new technologies and materials and trade news regularly advising colleagues

  • Providing expert knowledge relating to fire safety legislation

  • Undertaking the duties of Principle Designer in compliance with the CDM Regulations

Experience required:

  • Experience managing outsourced contractors in relation to fire safety, reviewing their performance and monitoring KPIs

  • Comprehensive knowledge of fire safety legislation, particularly relating to social housing, and of the commercial, operational and financial context within which I work.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and build collaborative partnerships

  • Demonstratable organisational, time management, administrative and prioritisation skills

  • Good intermediate IT skills

  • Hold relevant experience around a customer focused approach, putting residents first

Qualifications required:

  • A construction or property related qualification (degree or equivalent), or substantial technical experience, built on through a minimum of 5 years in a similar role

  • Relevant qualification NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management or equivalent
