Job description

We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in Devon, who are recruiting for fully remote Employment Solicitor to join their growing team on a 3 month minimum locum basis.

 

This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of circa. £50 - £60/hour Umbrella (negotiable) and the start date is subject to notice.

 

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Handling a complex caseload of employment matters on behalf of the Council, including advising on discrimination, unfair dismissal, equal pay, pensions, TUPE, policy matters and employment tribunal cases

  • Liaising and advising HR on sickness absences, restructures, equality issues, performance issues, and policy disputes

  • Drafting settlement agreements, responding to employment claims and undertaking advocacy where required

  • Providing timely and effective specialist legal advice to elected members, including Directors, senior managers and officers

 

Requirements

  • Experience required within employment law

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister
