Job description

Our client, based in the North London, is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor on a permanent contract. The client is proud to manage around 1,500 properties and this position is working within their Hackney and Stoke Newington patch.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The salary is up to £52,250 dependent upon experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within social housing and hold minimum of Degree or HND/HNC in Surveying/construction or equivalent and relevant work experience.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Carrying out a variety of surveys including maintenance repairs, voids, disrepair and Damp, mould and condensation surveys, producing robust reports
  • Work within agreed budgets and cost controls, ensuring adherence with financial procedures at all times
  • Produce reports and other information as required in line with statutory, regulatory and policy requirements
  • Issue warning/default notices, enforce liquidated damages and issue variation orders as required
  • Ensure all compliance in accordance with current repairs, H&S and other relevant legislations and good practice
  • Amend existing documents to reflect any changes or enhancements to the existing repairs service as directed

Experience required:

  • Experience of working in partnership with internal (and external) stakeholders to deliver excellence
  • Extensive experience of property maintenance work, preferably gained within housing, which has included undertaking, managing contracts and performance, property inspection, diagnosing common property defects and supervising the work of construction contractors and consultants. Specification and detailed of work requirements

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday 9am-5pm (flexible dependent on meetings)
