Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a reputable Housing Association based in Bedfordshire, who are recruiting for an Assistant Resident Coach on a four-week temporary to permanent contract.

The position is due to start immediately. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £17.50 per hour via an Umbrella Company and on a permanent basis the salary would be between £23,000 - £26,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have access to their own vehicle and an Enhanced DBS within the last three years, and have proven experience of Resident Coaching duties.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Working with approximately eight service users of age groups from 16 – 65 with complex needs: mental health, substance misuse and care leavers

  • Providing one to one key working sessions and coaching sessions

  • Completing property checks and ensuring void properties are turned around in an appropriate timeframe by monitoring referrals

  • Carrying out daily Health and Safety checks across the service

  • Providing a move on support service to young people looking to move into longer term accommodation

  • Signposted customers to additional support services where required

  • Ensuring customers were registered to medical services eg GP

  • Managing incidents of ASB which arise within the accommodation

  • Helping customers with potential educational and employment opportunities

  • Providing housing management advice – including supporting customers with welfare and housing benefit claims

  • Ensuring that all safeguarding is adhered to and maintained

  • Promoting customer engagement but building effective professional relationships whilst enforcing the appropriate boundaries

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing

  • Experience working with vulnerable customers and providing relevant one-to-one support

  • Experience completing Health & Safety checks

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Knowledge of move on support services

  • Have an up-to-date knowledge of Housing Management and legislation

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
