​Our Local Government client based in the North West is recruiting for a locum Adult Social Care Lawyer, to join the team for three months initially with potential extension.

The role is due to start immediately on a full time basis, offers remote working, and an hourly rate in the region of £50ph UMB (negotiable).

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Providing advice to the Council in regards to a range of Adult Social Care and duty matters

• Managing own caseload, including: s.21A challenges, s.16 welfare applications, Ordinary Residence queries, s.117 disputes, transitions cases and general Mental Health queries

• Advising on finance matters, such as Appointeeship, checking Deputyship referrals and deferred payment agreements

• Handling ad-hoc immigration and ASC mixed housing matters as required

• Undertaking Safeguarding Board work and/or policy work, subject to experience

Experience required:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive (FILEX)

• Local Authority Locum
