Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a charity based in Warwickshire, who are recruiting for a Senior Support Worker on a temporary three-month contract. The position is due to start immediately and the hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £17.50 via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have an enhanced DBS certificate dated within the last 3 years, drive and have access to their own vehicle, and have proven experience of Floating Support Worker duties.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing housing related support to customers with complex needs including learning disabilities, mental health and homelessness

  • Supporting up to 12 customers living within their own homes across a patch in Warwickshire inclusive of Atherstone, Rugby, Stratford upon Avon, Leamington Spa and Warwick

  • Working with Councils to help customers get onto the housing waiting list and to secure accommodation

  • Applying for benefits on behalf of customers including Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payments (PIP)

  • Signposting customers to additional support services within the area as required

  • Helping customers to set up their new tenancies – contacting utility providers and providing tenancy maintenance and sustainment advice

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing

  • Experience working with Councils to determine housing applications

  • Strong background in Housing Support, including dealing with benefit claims and tenancy sustainment
