We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority, who are looking to appoint a Schools Finance Manager on 3 – 6 month contract.

This will be a full-time position available on a remote basis with a daily rate of £600 via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will be qualified and have extensive experience within Schools Finance at a Local Authority.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Looking after the DSG and overseeing a team of seven direct reports (Finance Analysts and Management Accountants)

• Allocating and calculating the DSG funding and providing specialist advice on complex business matters

• Reviewing funding for pupils and students under the DSG formula, monitoring the annual and monthly budgets and supporting the team in the production of management accounting information

• Providing advice and guidance to over 200 schools

• Attending school’s forum to discuss matters of allocation and distribution of funding to individual schools

• Closing all maintained schools accounts within agreed timeframes

Experience required:

• Experience required in Schools finance within a Local Authority

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• CCAB qualification

• Strong background with DSG

Working hours:

• 5 days per week

• Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
