We are currently partnering with a leading educational body based in East London, who are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join their growing team in North London.

This is a 3-month temporary position with a rate that is negotiable dependent upon experience.

The role will require the applicant to be on site full-time for 37.5 hours per week and ideally have an enhanced DBS.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Taking responsibility for the processing of financial transactions within the academy, including purchase orders, invoicing, credit card reconciliation, BACS payments and petty cash
  • Undertaking monthly bank reconciliations
  • Assuming responsibility for the receipt, safekeeping and banking of all monies received by the academy
  • Maintaining finance filing systems, ensuring that records are suitable for audit purposes
  • Working with the Finance Manager to achieve the most competitive pricing for goods and services in compliance with current and relevant procurement legislation
  • Ensuring high standards of financial probity and value for money within the academy
  • Working as part of the office team and support with school administration
  • Contributing to the achievement of the educational vision for the academy
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with the day-to-day financial processes and procedures required of the academy
  • Experience required:

  • English and Maths GCSE grade A-C, or equivalent
  • Part-qualified AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA (desirable)

  • Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
  • Please note that this role does not offer hybrid working, the successful applicant will be required to be on site between two different sites
