Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Bristol, who are recruiting for a rewarding Support Worker on a temporary 3 months contract. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £16.21 per hour PAYE. We are looking for a Support Worker to join our Male Pathway team.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Work with 52 single males across Bristol, alongside a Housing Officer and a Team Manager

  • Work as part of a wider team supporting families and young people

  • Provide housing related support, while working closely with other agencies around specific needs including drug and alcohol services, mental health and DV

  • Support residents to manage their tenancy: housing management, working with benefits (housing benefits, universal credits, PIP and other)

  • Write Support Plans and Risk Assessments

  • Engage with other professionals and working towards move-on from temporary accommodation.

  • Experience required:

    • Experience required in Housing related Support Work

    • Experience working with customers with Complex Needs

    Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

    • Have an understanding or experience, of issues surrounding homelessness and good awareness of associated risks this may bring such as alcohol and substance misuse, mental health, self-harm, offending behaviour.

    • Have understanding or experience of debt management, experience, of lone working and welfare and housing benefits.

    • Have the ability to motivate and engage clients in the service and their pathway to independence.

    • Understand the impact of trauma and can show us you have experience of or the ability to provide high-quality support whilst managing challenging situations.

    • Have a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.

    Working hours:

    • 37 hours per week

    • Bandwidth, 8am-6pm
