Job description

​Location: Part flexible – initially work from the client's office in Northampton until inducted within IT, then 1 to 2 days from home

Duration: 3 month engagement

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 37 hours

Rate: £450 per day Via Umbrella

Start Date: ASAP

Our client, a prominent organisation, is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their team for a 3-month engagement. The primary responsibilities include:

Migrating an On-Premise 2013 Exchange Server to either an On-Premise Exchange Server 2016 or Exchange Online

Conducting a comprehensive review of the current email/messaging architecture and providing priority recommendations for improvements

Implementing approved improvements based on the recommendations

Key Personnel Attributes

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues, troubleshoot effectively, and provide timely resolutions in a fast-paced environment

- Solid understanding of IT security principles and practices

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Strong documentation skills, capable of producing high-quality and detailed documentation

- Collaborative team player, willing to share knowledge and provide guidance to colleagues

- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, with a willingness to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotations when necessary

Technical Requirements

- Very strong knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Exchange Server technologies (2013, 2016, 2019), Exchange Online, and Email Messaging architectures

- Hands-on experience in managing and supporting Microsoft Infrastructure technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, VMWare virtualisation, and network services

- Strong experience with Citrix Server and Citrix products

- Experience with Windows Virtual Desktop and associated migrations (advantageous)

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Admin (advantageous)

- Familiarity with Infrastructure Monitoring Tools such as SCOM, Vantage DX, and Solarwinds

- Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Teams

- Hands-on experience in building, deploying, and supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 desktops utilising Autopilot, Endpoint Manager (Intune), and SSCM (advantageous)
