Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Higher Educational Body based in London, who are recruiting for a HR Advisor on a Temporary 5 month contract. The position is due to start mid May. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable dependent on experience.
The ideal candidate will be CIPD qualified or training towards their CIPD and will have experience dealing with low level ER cases.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Providing a customer-focused, risk-based, expert, and professional HR advisory service to managers and employees, liaising with the relevant HR Business Partner and Trade Union representatives as required
Working with managers to fully manage case work proactively at both informal and formal stages, referring complex cases and significant risks to the Employee Relations and Policy Manager and/or relevant HR Business Partner
Working collaboratively with managers, Occupational Health and HR Business Partners to pro-actively manage sickness absence cases and sickness absence levels
Building and maintaining effective working relationships within allocated areas, advising on a range of employee relations matters and the implementation of procedures
Supporting the HR Business Partners in workforce planning, organisational effectiveness reviews, restructures and employee engagement initiatives, providing reports and data analysis where required
Supporting the review, development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure processes meet business need, and that policies and guidance notes are continuously improved
Experience required:
Experience of handling a HR case work portfolio, including disciplinaries and grievance investigations, hearings, and appeals
Experience in attendance and performance management processes to conclusion
Experience in providing high quality advice and guidance to managers
Experience of supporting change management projects
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Effective IT, numeracy and data analytical skills, with the ability to analyse HR metric
data
Understanding of how HR policies are developed and embedded within a complex workforce
Knowledge on how to develop and sustain relationships with key stakeholders
Associate CIPD membership or working towards CIPD Level 5 qualification
Working hours:
35 hours per week
Mon – Fri, 9am – 5pm
2 days working from home
