Job description

We are proud to be partnering with a large, West Midlands based Housing Association, who are looking to appoint an Electrical Qualifying Supervisor on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This will be a full-time position based across the West Midlands covering a large geographical patch, a company van is provided and the role is offering a salary of £43,000 to £48,000 per annum.

The candidate must have demonstrable previous experience of working as an NICIEC qualifying supervisor and hold appropriate qualifications to undertake the role such as 18th edition and 2391.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Directly supervising four to five Electrician’s and Apprentices as well as holding the technical responsibility for the wider team including maintenance operatives

  • Holding responsibility for the maintenance of the overall standard and quality of electrical installation work undertaken

  • Acting as the responsible person and main point of contact with NICEIC matters and ensure full compliance

  • Ensuring the team are competent to carry out the range of electrical works required of them

  • Undertaking effective works in progress inspections on; directly employed operatives, sub-contractors and agency staff, ensuring documentation and maintaining records for any third-party audits

  • Checking, verifying and authorising completed electrical certification

  • Signing off on technical works and completing technical surveys

  • Validating and signing off NICEIC certifications and electrical certificates

Experience required:

  • Supervisory experience of relevant trades/contractors delivering repairs and maintenance to occupied Social Housing properties

  • A minimum of two years’ experience of working as an NICIEC Qualifying Supervisor

  • Good practical knowledge of, permit to work systems, Electricity at Work Act, PAT

  • Ability to undertake risk assessments and method statements to ensure a safe working practice

  • Experience of working in occupied domestic properties

  • Understanding of H&S as applied in the workplace

  • Interdependencies of construction trades

  • An understanding of administrative processes and systems

  • Experience of working with the public

  • IT Literate

  • Ability to manage own time and workload

Qualifications required:

  • C&G 18th Edition IET Regulations

  • C&G (2394 & 2395) or 2391 Testing and Inspection

  • C&G 2360 Pt. 1 & Pt. 2, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

  • CSCS card

  • IT Literate

  • SSSTS

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday
