Job description

Our client, based in Cumbria, is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor on a initial 2 to 3 month contract, with a chance of going permanent following on from this.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.

The ideal candidate must have Building Surveying experience and ideally will have worked in a social housing setting before.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Carrying out building surveys across a variety of different properties

  • Highlighting issues around damp and mould, and looking at ways in which these could be avoided

  • Issuing work to Contractors and monitoring all their works from start to completion

  • Ensuring that all up to date building legislation was implemented across the organisation

  • Ensuring projects are completed on budget and to schedule

  • Determining the condition of existing buildings, identifying and analysing defects, including proposals for repair

  • Dealing with planning applications and advising on property legislation and building regulations

Rewards and Benefits:

  • Work from home up to 3 days a week

  • £0.45p mileage rate

Working hours:

  • 38 hours per week (Flexible working hours are available)
