Job description

We are currently working in partnership with reputable Housing Association, based in Yorkshire, who are looking to appoint a Surveyor on a two to three month temporary contract.

This will be a full-time position based covering a patch in Yorkshire, with hybrid working (two days home working) and an hourly rate of £28.00 - £32.00 per hour on an umbrella basis.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within Social Housing and of completed pre and post inspections within responsive, planned and cyclical maintenance.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Carrying out stock condition, responsive cyclical maintenance, void property and planned works surveys and inspections
  • Conducting pre- and post-inspections of works and snagging on completed works
  • Preparing schedules of works
  • Supervising works carried out by the inhouse team and external contractors, ensuring works are completed to high standards, within time frames and budgets
  • Delivering works using the CX and Keystone asset management systems
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and procurement of revenue and capital contractors
  • Processing tenant and resident requests to undertake alterations to properties
  • Communicating effectively with tenants and providing a high level of service at all times

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing
  • Experience working with customers within housing

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Knowledge and awareness of related housing regulations/ law
  • Experience of contract management and carrying out property inspections
  • Experience of delivering face to face customer service
  • Experience of developing partnership working with support agencies, local authorities and community groups
  • Good understanding of the social, economic and political context in the neighbourhoods in which we operate
  • IT skills - Microsoft office to Intermediate level

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
  • Two days working from home, three days on patch/in the office
