Where are you from originally?

I was born in London, but have lived in Harrogate, North Yorkshire for the past 15 years!

What drew you towards a career in recruitment?

Before my first contact with James Andrews, I didn’t know much about the recruitment industry. However after conducting research into what being a Recruitment Consultant involved and speaking to friends and relatives who also worked in the industry, I believed it to be a role which would make a good match to my skill set. The communitive nature of the role, and the variation of what you find yourself doing on a day to day basis really appealed to me.

What first attracted you to James Andrews?

My initial conversation with the talent acquisition team. The level of personal communication, and interest in my own ambitions and goals really made me feel positive about finding out more about the company. I got the impression that they were genuinely interested in my thoughts about the role – this is not an attitude that I felt was expressed by many other graduate employers that I applied for jobs with.

Why did you decide to seek a graduate role in Leicester?

After attending university in Leicester, I was very settled in the city and had a great group of friends around me. I wanted to stay in Leicester to remain around this strong support group I had managed to build and start my career!

Favourite thing about working here so far?

The people! Everyone has been so fantastic helping me with my training and getting to know the office. They immediately made me feel included and at ease.

What has surprised you most about being a Recruitment Consultant?

How quickly things start moving once a job comes on! Although I understood recruitment was a competitive industry, I didn’t realise that the same job was sent out to numerous companies – so the race is on as soon as the email comes through!

What have you enjoyed most so far about your day-to-day work or training?

I have really enjoyed how structured the training is each day. The clear layout of what each new employee should be learning each day, makes it a lot easier to keep track of how I should progressing, and a much neater training folder!
