Our client, based in Manchester (however the job is working from home), is currently recruiting for a Welfare Rights Officer on a temporary contract for six months.
The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.
The successful candidate must have experience in providing welfare and benefits advice and a basic DBS (be happy to get one processed)
Duties will include (but not limited to):
Review benefits of tenants, ensuring they receive the funds they are entitled to
Providing advice on and calculating entitlement to benefits for tenants through appropriate methods of service delivery
Assist tenants in completing benefit claim forms and gathering supportive medical and other evidence
Build relationships with other statutory and voluntary organisations
Ensure that all client work is recorded appropriately and that all records are accurately maintained and kept up to date
Produce statistics and analysis reports on welfare rights management information for both monitoring performance and promotion of the service
Looking into housing benefit cases and appealing cases
Encourage the take up of benefits through campaigns and attending events, which may be run in conjunction with other agencies
35 hours per week
Monday – Friday Flexible Hours
