Volunteer Manager

Our client, based in Coventry, is currently recruiting for a Volunteer Manager on a permanent contract. The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis and the salary for this position is £35,319.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in the sector, however this requirement can be flexible.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Managing the volunteering service, promoting the expansion, development, and retention of volunteers across the Group
  • Liaising with managers at dispersed locations across the organisation to gather information on current volunteers and understand opportunities to create new volunteering roles
  • Develop a recruitment and engagement plan with external partners and local communities to increase number of volunteers and manage budget spend
  • Leading the recruitment and induction of volunteers across the Group, with the support of managers, HR, and L&D departments, ensuring that the process maximises the attraction and retention of volunteers and reinforces the organisation’s mission, ethos and values of the Group to all stakeholders
  • Liaising with HR to manage any employee relations or performance matters raised by or with volunteers in line with appropriate policy
  • Providing guidance to managers and staff across the organisation on supervision and management of volunteers, ensuring that Volunteers are managed in line with ED&I strategy
  • Liaising with other departments to plan and deliver training for managers to understand best practice and develop organisational procedures for volunteer management

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Volunteer experience
  • Management experience
  • Project management skills
  • Strong communication with all levels of employees
  • Excellent IT & training skills

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday 9am-5pm
