VAT Finance Officer

Our client, based in Devon, is currently recruiting for a VAT Finance Officer on a temporary contract for six months.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time or part time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience within VAT Accounting, and be AAT Level 4 qualified, however this requirement can be flexible.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Maintaining and developing VAT guidance and training to all levels of staff on the correct treatment of transactions
• Be the lead Officer on the provision of VAT advice
• Reviewing existing VAT systems and processes to help identify efficiencies and improvements
• Liaising with the External Tax Advisors in respect of emerging VAT issues or legislative changes
• Undertaking technical research and advise management in respect of VAT as appropriate
• Monitor the Partial Exemption calculation and investigate and resolve errors and issues in respect of the systems

Experience required:

• AAT Level 4 Qualified
• Minimum three years’ experience within the sector

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• Experience of delivering training
• Good knowledge of Excel
• Advanced knowledge of VAT Accounting

Working hours:

• This role can be either Full time or Par time depending on the candidate
