Job description

We are delighted to be representing a housing association, based in Oxfordshire, who are looking to appoint a new Technical Officer on a permanent basis. This will be a full-time position, a salary of c.£42,000 per annum.

The client is looking for a candidate with experience in surveying domestic properties, ideally within social housing.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Carry out inspections in empty and tenanted properties to identify any works required
  • Provide technical advice to colleagues and deal directly with both tenant enquiries and complaints
  • Organise and supervise contractors’ works to ensure jobs are completed on time, to a high standard and within budget
  • Deal with repair enquiries and complaints from customers, keeping them informed of progress at all times
  • Prepare detailed specifications where required and tender for repair works within properties
  • Ensure all works are conducted within Health, Safety & Compliance regulations and legislation
  • Provide a high level of customer service to tenants at all times

Experience & Skills required:

  • ONC or equivalent in building surveyor or similar
  • Technical knowledge of building construction
  • Experience of working in a social housing environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to customer service and an enthusiastic and positive approach
  • IT competency
  • Full driving licence and access to own vehicle

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
