Vacancy: Tax Manager
East of England | 22.2 hours per week | Permanent
Our client – based in the East of England – are currently looking for a Tax Manager to join their central finance function on permanent part time basis. The role is 22.2 hours per week and the hiring manager is flexible how these hours are worked per week!
Start date: Dependent on notice period, ideally May 2026
Salary: £69,072 - £76, 298 per annum (FTE)
Duties will include (but not limited to):
Preparing and submitting the VAT returns for the VAT Group and other subsidiary companies
Preparing the Corporation Tax returns for the Group, year-end provisions and notes to the statutory financial statements
Acting as the the primary point of contact for all direct and indirect tax affairs across the Group
Holding responsibility for negotiations with HM Revenue and Customs
Planning and managing the Group’s tax affairs under existing and proposed legislation
Forecasting tax payments and evaluate the tax consequences of current and future projects
Assisting the Head of Pay and Pensions with payroll related tax issues
Holding responsibility for training both Finance and non-Finance staff to ensure compliance with relevant legislative requirements across the Group
Ensuring that the Finance system is VAT and tax compliant
Ensuring VAT efficiency in major capital projects
Experience required:
Fully qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/FCCA)
Background working in Higher Education is strongly desirable
Up to date knowledge of UK tax legislation
Knowledge of the Tech One finance system is strongly desirable

22.2 hours per week (flexible working)
Monday - Friday
Hybrid working: Please note you will need to be on site every Tuesday to align with the wider finance team
