Job description

We are working with an organisation who specialise in supporting young adults who are at risk of homelessness to fill a Support Worker role on a 3 month temporary contract.

The successful candidate will work ​37 hours per week, on shift rota system, e.g., 8am-4pm, 10am-6pm and 12pm-8pm, with some weekend shifts.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis and the hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.

To be considered for the role, candidates must have experience working with families/young people/vulnerable clients and have an enhanced DBS on the update service or taken out within 2 months

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Responsible for providing housing related support to 16 – 25 year olds primarily in a 43 bed unit and managing a caseload of clients

  • Helping clients to find move on accommodation and providing advice to help sustain their tenancies

  • Offering with welfare and benefits advice as well as giving support with general money management

  • Creating support plans and undertaking risk assessments

  • Signposting client queries to the appropriate external agency such as the Police, Probation Services, Social Services and Local Authorities
