Job description

We are currently partnering with a Housing Association, who are recruiting for a Support Worker to join their growing team in West Yorkshire on a 2-month temporary contract.

This is a full-time position with a pay rate of £14.00 per hour via an umbrella company and the start date is subject to notice.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Supporting clients with substance misuse or complex needs

  • Helping tenants to maintain their rooms and living spaces

  • Helping clients to find move on accommodation and providing advice to help sustain their tenancies

  • Offering with welfare and benefits advice as well as giving support with general money management

  • Creating support plans and undertaking risk assessments

  • Signposting client queries to the appropriate external agency such as the Police, Probation Services, Social Services and Local Authorities

  • Encouraging clients to get involved with community activities and socialise with those around them

  • Assisting with tenancy management, low level anti-social behaviour complaints, rental arrears and more

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing

  • Experience working with clients who require support plans

  • Experience providing advice for the move on process

  • Experience helping and supporting tenants with complex needs

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Ability to create support plans

  • Knowledge of undertaking risk assessments

  • Confident in handling client queries and escalating where appropriate

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 8am-4pm
