Job description

Our client, based in East London, is currently recruiting for a Support Team Manager on a temporary contract for three months. Our client is an establish Homeless Charity, who is proud to provide temporary accommodation and move on services to help vulnerable people get off the streets and find permanent long term accommodation.

Last year alone, they were able to assist 91% of referrals sustain their new tenancies!

 

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The hourly rate is very generous paying £21.42 PAYE or £25.13 UMB.

 

The ideal candidate will have previously managed a team of Support Workers in the homeless sector, however this requirement can be flexible.

 

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Managing 8 Homeless Support Workers and a Deputy Manager, within the Direct Assessment Service Hub ensuring objectives and targets are being met within the team

  • Responsible for developing practice on a trauma based approach, working with residents with complex needs and challenging behaviour

  • Support the Deputy Team Manager in developing and maintaining a high quality personalised case management system which fully involves residents to engage in long term tenancy sustainment

  • Develop and maintain close relationships and working protocols with the external partner services for tenants complex needs

  • Manage and monitor allocated budget for income and expenditure and to ensure that the Direct Access Assessment Hub team keeps within set performance targets

  • Assist with the re-location plans to move the service location across the borough (Newham)

 

Experience required:

  • Previously managed a team of Homeless Support Workers

 

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Knowledge of the homeless sector and providing move on services from temporary accommodation

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
