Service Manager/ Support Team Leader

Our client, based in South Yorkshire, is currently recruiting for a Service Manager and a Support Team Leader on a temporary contract for six – twelve months. Our client is an award winning charity that placed 20 on Stonewall’s Top 100 Employers list in 2022.

The positions are due to start immediately on a part-time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in the sector, however this requirement can be flexible.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

 

Service Manager:

  • Manage a new service for low level mental health needs, consisting of a café for people discharged from A+E
  • Responsible for the line management of the Team Leader, carry out regular appraisals and 1 to 1s
  • To promote and utilise accessible referral pathways into the service, to divert avoidable attendances away from A&E. This includes liaising with A&E staff and the Crisis Assessment Service
  • To undertake out of hours and weekend work as required by the Service
  • To provide support to individuals who are experiencing crisis and acute distress, including one to one support, support planning, liaison with local services and signposting
  • To effectively monitor the performance of the service, keep accurate and confidential records and provide regular reports for commissioners and the organisation

Support Team Leader

  • Assist in the running of a new service for low level mental health needs, consisting of a café for people discharged from A+E
  • To support the Service Manager to develop the service, ensuring that it is set up effectively and that the organisation is able to deliver on all areas of the contract
  • To work with visitors, statutory and other partners to establish a steering group to provide strategic oversight of the service
  • To work closely with the Service Manager and other team leaders to share ideas, reflect and provide continuous improvement and attend meetings according to the needs of the service
  • To provide support to individuals who are experiencing crisis and acute distress, including one to one support, support planning, liaison with local services and signposting
  • To effectively monitor the performance of the service, providing regular reports for commissioners and the organisation on activity and effectiveness of the service and ensure staff maintain full, accurate and up to date confidential records

 

Experience required:

  • Minimum two years’ experience within the sector
  • Management of staff in previous roles
  • Worked with service users who have complex mental health needs

Working hours:

  • 5/24 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday 9am-5pm
