Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in North Yorkshire, who are recruiting for a Service Manager on a temporary three-month contract. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up £25.00 per hour via an Umbrella Company.

The ideal candidate will have access to a vehicle.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing and monitoring the extra care & sheltered housing team to deliver high quality housing and support services within identified financial and VFM criteria and in line with the care & support strategy

  • Oversee Health & Safety requirements to ensure compliance with all aspects, including producing risk assessments, method statements and safe working practices

  • Developing extra care & sheltered housing service to deliver to the wider community in and act as internal subject matter expert on all aspects of older persons housing and extra care

  • Maintaining effective working relationships with external stakeholders and with the general housing teams to ensure consistency in approach to housing management

  • Controlling income and expenditure, undertaking the procurement of any external services and supplies in accordance with the budget, procedures, levels of delegated authority and financial control / audit requirements, taking appropriate action when variances occur

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Understanding and having the ability to work as a flexible team member, contributing to a wide range of corporate challenges

  • A flexible attitude to working hours to meet targets and service requirements. This may include attending emergencies out of office hours

  • Professional qualification in relevant discipline to degree level or equivalent

  • Evidence of continually developing professional knowledge

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am - 5pm
