Job description

Our client, based in Northamptonshire, is currently recruiting for a Senior Voids Surveyor on a permanent contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The annual salary for this role is £60,000.

The ideal candidate will have experience in building surveying, including managing technical teams, hold a relevant Building Surveying qualification (HNC, HND or degree), and have access to their own vehicle with a full UK driving licence.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Leading and mentoring Assistant Surveyors, driving performance and service delivery

  • Managing the end-to-end voids process, ensuring properties meet lettable standards, quality, timescales, and budgets

  • Monitoring contractor performance, provide technical expertise, and ensure high-quality completion of void works

  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to improve service delivery, ensure compliance, and support asset investment programmes

Experience required:

  • Extensive experience in building surveying, responsive maintenance, and void property management, ideally within a social housing environment

  • Proven experience managing technical teams, contractors, and complex projects from inspection through to completion, ensuring quality, compliance, and value for money

  • Demonstrable experience building strong customer and stakeholder relationships, delivering excellent service, resolving complex issues, and meeting challenging performance targets

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance, schedule of Rates, building defects, and health and safety compliance

  • Excellent leadership, communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage priorities and build effective stakeholder relationships

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
