Our client, based in Kent, is currently recruiting for a Senior Payroll Officer on a permanent contract. They are proud to be consistently regarded as one of the top providers of Higher Education in the world lists.
The position is due to start in December 2021 on a full time basis. They are offering a salary of £32,000 per annum with excellent benefits.
The ideal candidate will have considerable experience of working within a large payroll team.
Duties will include (but not limited to):
*Working with a payroll team of three to process the monthly payroll of 4,000 staff from start to finish
*Processing starters and leaver as well monthly checking: appointment form details, P45 or SDF and right to work documentation including visa details where applicable
*Calculating pro rata payment figures for mid-month starters and leavers
*Updating employee details in relation to contact details, tax notices (P6/P6T), student loan notices
Administering any relevant statutory deduction such as SMP, SSP, SPP, SAP, ShPP,
*Setting up salary sacrifice deductions including season tickets, loans, cycle to work and childcare
*Administering Teachers Pension and Local government (LPFA) pension schemes
*Ensuring that when calculating final payment for leavers that the following was taken into account, actual end date, holiday entitlement used, and return of any items owned by the company
*Assisting the Payroll Manager with the running of the payroll, deputizing as and when necessary
*Working as part of a payroll team to process monthly and/or weekly payroll from start to finish
*Generating summary payroll reports to check all information has been inputted correctly
*Processing bacs and uploading into payment system
*Producing monthly P32 reports and informing accounts payable of the payment value to HMRC
