Our local authority client, based in the South West of the UK, is currently recruiting for a Social Care Lawyer on a 3-month temporary locum contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate on offer for position is up to £55 per hour UMB.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within Social Care law and most specifically within the local authority setting.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Overseeing and managing a Social Care caseload, supporting the Legal Services’ Out of Hours service to provide assistance to the Emergency Duty Team on matters of Childcare and Adult Social Care

• Responding to requests for advice and representation from Council employees

• Managing all aspects of Court representation as required

  Representing the Council at Court and formal appeal hearings as required

• Determining appeals under the Internal Dispute Resolution Procedure of the Local Government Pension Scheme and various internal appeal procedures where required

Experience required:

• Social Care law experience

• Local Authority experience

Working hours:

• 37 hours per week

• Monday – Friday
