Job description
We are delighted to be representing a Social Housing organisation, based in Bedfordshire, who are looking to appoint a new Senior Financial Accountant on a six-month temporary basis.
This will be a full-time position, with hybrid working (one to two days on site per week) and a generous daily rate that is negotiable dependent on experience.
The client is looking for a fully qualified Accountant with previous experience working within the Social Housing sector.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Reporting directly into the Financial Controller
Providing financial and non-financial information as required, including for external audit purposes adhering to FRS
Maintaining financial accounting records and producing annual statutory accounts
Ensuring timely and accurate information is delivered for monthly, quarterly, half year and year-end reporting
Managing an accurate and efficient month end process, ensuring that reporting meets or exceeds the agreed timescales
Responsible for carrying out cashflow analysis and preparing cashflow statements
Ensuring that the fixed asset register is an accurate reflection of the business’ assets by monthly reconciliation to the nominal ledger
Producing balance sheet reconciliations for specific area of responsibility
Assisting with the four-week audit
Experience and skills required:
Fully qualified Accountant
Previous experience working within the Social Housing sector
Experience using the SUN system (desirable)
Solution based approach to problem solving
Personal integrity and a strong focus on personal accountability to deliver effective outcomes
Ability to drive change and continuously improve systems, processes and functions
High degree of IT literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and other finance and reporting system
