Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a local authority based in Essex, who are recruiting for a Senior Adult Social Care Solicitor on a permanent contract. This is a full time hours role offering a hybrid working pattern (circa three days per week WFH) and an initial starting salary of £53,647 per annum.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor, barrister or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and will have at least three years’ experience working in adult social care law.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Preparing and representing the organisation in court of protection matters
Advising on all aspects of adult safeguarding law as well as for plans and assessments for vulnerable adults
Providing legal advice on the duties of the organisation under the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Health and Social Care Act, Mental Health Act and associated regulations and statutory guidance
Acting as a legal practitioner and advocate (when necessary) within the team, ensuring the provision of timely and accurate legal advice
Experience required:
Strong adult social care experience
Relevant professional qualification – solicitor, barrister or FCILEX
Working hours:
35 hours per week
Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
