Job description
We are currently partnering with a one of the UKs leading Housing Associations who are recruiting for an experienced Safeguarding Manager to join their extraordinary team on a permanent basis!
In this crucial role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing robust safeguarding policies and practices to protect vulnerable individuals in the organisation's care.
This is a full time, permanent position, though we welcome applications from people interested in job share or flexible working hours and pays up to £46,000. You can be based in Exeter, Tolvaddon or Weston-super-Mare, with the option for hybrid working.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Leading the safeguarding strategy, ensuring all cases are managed with appropriate actions and escalation
Providing support and guidance to colleagues in identifying and reporting safeguarding concerns, including training on types and signs of abuse
Maintaining strong partnerships with statutory agencies and challenge professional differences when necessary
Overseeing case management, ensuring data is tracked, actions are followed up and positive outcomes are achieved to reduce risk and harm
Leading on the coordination and development of safeguarding policies, ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks and best practices
Managing sensitive information with discretion, supporting colleagues in dealing with difficult cases
Collaborating with external partners and agencies to ensure joined-up approaches to safeguarding
Working collaboratively with staff, external agencies, and community partners to create a safe environment and promote the welfare of all
Experience required:
Relevant experience of managing complex safeguarding cases, ideally with both adults and children
Demonstrable track record of success in providing advice and support to colleagues working with specialist groups such as older people, young people and/or adults at risk
Experience of identifying safeguarding concerns in peoples’ homes
Skills and knowledge required:
An understanding of the legislative frameworks and possess in-depth knowledge relating to Safeguarding, Mental Capacity, Domestic Abuse and reporting processes
The ability to educate colleagues on the types and signs of abuse and support them in reporting potential abuse cases and liaison with relevant partners
The ability to coordinate safeguarding concerns, ideally holidng a level 3 safeguarding qualification
