Reserving Analyst

Our client, based in Leeds, is currently recruiting for a Reserving Analyst on a permanent basis. Our client is proud to be a multi award-winning provider of niche personal lines insurance products.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The salary is negotiable based on experience for this position.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in the sector and have a degree in a numerate subject or equivalent (2:1 or above) however this requirement can be flexible.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Applying best estimate actuarial reserving techniques to forecast quarterly loss ratios across product lines
• Identifying areas where improvements and time efficiencies can be made and implemented
• Developing processes and management information to provide actuarial insight into business decision making
• Producing reports outlining findings and communicating key results to stakeholders
• Maintaining good relations with key stakeholders, identifying their requirements and keeping them up to date with actuarial performance developments
• Holding responsibility for the production of data and models for reinsurance, liaising with stakeholders, answering queries and managing time to meet deadlines
• Assessing the quality of data available for reserving purposes and its limitations

Experience required:

• Minimum two years’ experience within the sector

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• Strong analytical and numerical background
• Competent on Excel
• Ability to work within both a team environment and independently

Working hours:

• 35 hours per week
• Monday – Friday 9am-5pm (flexi-time available)
