Repairs & Maintenance Manager

Our client, based in Sussex, is currently recruiting for a Repairs & Maintenance Manager on a temporary contract for six months. Our client is a local authority, responsible for delivering a large array of services, helping to improve and maintain its surrounding community.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant experience in a managerial role.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Managing the delivery of an excellent quality and right first time responsive repairs service for the council’s residents in line with agreed performance targets and outcomes
• Overseeing the voids service, ensuring compliance with the lettable standard and planning and programming works to minimise rent loss
• Delivering the capital, cyclical and planned maintenance programmes, preparing schedules, inviting tenders, supervising works and undertaking inspections
• Monitoring contractor performance and costs, negotiating to help achieve value for money, maintaining accurate records, and producing reports as required
• Maintaining up-to-date stock condition records of the Council stock, recording recent works and adaptations to contribute to stock condition information
• Working collaboratively and effectively across the Service with colleagues to ensure that asset management decisions are based on qualitative as well as financial outcomes

Experience and Knowledge required:

• Experience within a managerial role
• Knowledge regarding governance and compliance
• Thorough understanding of strategic and operational duties
