Job description

Our client, based in West Yorkshire, is currently recruiting for a Referral Officer on a three month temporary to permanent contract.

 

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis, with one day working from home per work. The shift pattern would be Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, on either 8:00am-4:00pm, or 10:00am-6:00pm and a weekly rolling rota. The annual salary would be £21,023 and the temporary rate is negotiable dependent on experience.

 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in the sector, however this requirement can be flexible. Please note – an enhanced DBS on the online update system will be required.

 

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Responsible for taking referrals for offenders being released from prison or those on bail and are no longer able to reside at their current address

  • Carry out risk assessments for tenants and make a decision on whether they are suitable for accommodation

  • Maintain accurate records relating to enquiries, referral applications, risk assessments, outcomes, and placement of potential residents, analysing and flagging any anomalies to the Referral Hub

  • Assess appropriate placements in sensitive addresses with more complex criteria, whilst making defensible

  • Carry out general administrative duties, such as managing the phone, faxing, filing, data entry and making sure all information is kept up to date an accurate

  • Manage challenging conversations with stakeholders contacting the service to make a complaint – working clearly and concisely to obtain the required information to refer to the most appropriate person

 

Experience required:

  • Experience of assessing risk and/or able to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of risk assessment and management within support/care settings

  • Open housing system experience is desirable

  • Experience of dealing with sensitive and triggering cases

 

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday

  • 8:00am-4:00pm or 10:00am-6:00pm
