Quantity Surveyor

Our client, based in the East Midlands, is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor on a temporary contract for six months. The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience in the sector, however this requirement can be flexible.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Deliver ongoing domestic housing stock contracts, as well as energy-based procurement, with a client-based focus
• Preparation of tender documents
• Complete full tender evaluation and advice/recommendations to the client on contact arrangements
• Manage and process financial contracts
• Conduct site visits and inspections and report back on findings
• Check/report on quality of workmanship and specification compliance
• Liaise with line management and operatives in regards to contracts and projects
• Valuing completed work and approving payment requests
• Negotiate and agree on final accounts

Experience/Skills required:

• Hold a relevant Quantity Surveying Degree
• Experience working within a similar QS role
• Ideally experience of working within a public sector, including for a local authority or social housing organisation

Working hours:

• 37 hours per week
• Monday – Friday
• Flexible between 8:00am – 6:00pm
