Job description
Our client, Transport Focus, is currently recruiting for a Programme Support Officer on a 4-month temporary contract, with potential for extension.
The position is based in London, preferably, or Manchester and will report to the Senior Engagement Manager.
The ideal candidate will have strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills, with experience developing and maintaining integrated programme, project or delivery plans involving multiple workstreams and stakeholders. The successful candidate will be pragmatic, proactive and confident working independently, with the ability to challenge constructively and maintain momentum across teams.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
•Developing, owning and maintaining an integrated programme plan across multiple workstreams
•Identifying and managing dependencies, milestones, critical paths, key decision points, risks and bottlenecks
•Driving progress against the programme plan, following up actions and escalating risks or slippage where required
•Maintaining a clear forward view of upcoming activity, deadlines, decisions and dependencies
•Establishing and managing effective delivery rhythms, including programme meetings and stand-ups
•Producing clear, concise planning tools and reporting to provide an accurate view of programme progress and priorities
•Taking ownership of action tracking, information gathering and day-to-day programme co-ordination
•Building effective relationships across different teams, providing appropriate challenge and accountability
•Providing flexible project and programme support across the organisation as required
Experience required:
•Experience developing and maintaining integrated programme, project or delivery plans
•Experience working across multiple workstreams and stakeholders
•Experience bringing structure and clarity to complex or fast-moving activity
•Experience managing stakeholder relationships and maintaining delivery momentum
•Experience identifying potential delivery issues, competing priorities, capacity constraints and dependencies
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
•Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills
•Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
•Strong judgement and problem-solving abilities
•Ability to work independently and take ownership
•Ability to turn complex information into clear and concise programme updates
Working hours:
•37 hours per week, Mon - Fri
