Job description

We are currently working in partnership with United Learning Trust school based in West London, who are recruiting for a Premises Manager on a temporary 5 month contract. The position is due to start immediately and the hourly rate of pay is negotiable dependent upon experience.

The ideal candidate will have a enhanced DBS certificate and prior experience of working in a school managing facilities staff.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • To be accountable for the overall management of the Academy site and the maintaining of facilities to ensure a high quality environment that supports teaching and learning

  • Ensure all planned and reactive works are completed and planned in a timely manner, to a high standard and within the approved budget

  • To maintain an appropriate and comprehensive record in relation to premises and facilities

  • To be responsible for overall site safety ensuring the procedures followed by staff and contractors are within Health and Safety at Work legislation

  • To implement monitor and update the service delivery plans and ensure contractors and staff follow the specification

  • Oversee a team of 4 which consists of 2 premises officers and 2 assistants

Experience required:

  • To understand and apply regulations (such as health & safety, manual handling regulations etc.

  • To understand the needs of a Academy in terms of its premises and facilities and budgetary constraints

  • To understand the need to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people, and in safeguarding and promoting their welfare

  • Previous management experience of a maintenance team

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Ability to prioritise, plan, organise and manage work life balance

  • Be able to lead and positively influence the team and others

  • Ability to work as an effective team player, understanding the strengths and weakness of others to help team development

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, varied start/finishing times
