Job description

We are currently partnering with a prestigious not-for-profit organisation based in South West London, as they are recruiting for a Payroll Assistant on a three-month temporary to permanent contract.

 

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis, offering a salary of £28,000 per annum and the hourly rate equivalent.

 

The ideal candidate will have at least three years’ experience running a payroll from start to end and have the ability to learn new systems quickly and efficiently.

 

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Working as part of a team of three to run the end-to-end payroll for 300 monthly employees, ensuring the payroll is run accurately and with minimal errors

  • Overseeing the day-to-day administration of payroll and providing support to the HR team

  • Inputting new starter information and managing leavers in a timely manner to meet payroll deadlines

  • Checking calculations in preparation for processing SSP/SMP/SPP or increments/pay awards

  • Processing and inputting variable data into relevant systems in accordance with statutory and contractual obligations

  • Dealing with the Salary Sacrifice and Auto-Enrolment pension enquiries concerning payments made to employees

  • Ensuring that both Salary Sacrifice and Auto-Enrolment returns are completed and submitted

  • Processing and recovering overpayments, providing regular updates to management

  • Providing an excellent customer experience to both the internal and external workforce

 

Experience required:

  • 3 years’ experience of running end-to-end payroll

 

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Experienced and proficient in using HR and Payroll system

  • A good understanding of payroll best practices

  • Experience of keeping and maintaining accurate records

  • Experience of building strong partnerships

  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail

  • Good organisation abilities

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
