Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in the West Midlands, who are recruiting for a Painter & Decorator on a temporary two-month contract. The position is due to start immediately, with the hourly rate of pay being £18 to £20 per hour via an Umbrella company.
The ideal candidate must have experience of carrying out Painting & Decorating within domestic and social housing. The candidate must also hold a full UK Driving License, with access to own vehicle and handheld equipment/tools.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Carry out a programme of planned Painting & Decorating tasks within kitchen and bathrooms for tenanted social housing properties
Provide a high level of customer service to tenants at all times, working both independently and as part of a team
Conducting day-to-day tasks to a high standard, including:
Stripping off old wallpaper and/or paint
Prepare surfaces with primer and undercoat
Mix paints by hand and/or using colour-matching equipment
Fill holes and cracks, ensuring surfaces are level
Apply paints and hang wallpapers
Measure surfaces to work out materials required
Experience and Skills required:
Carrying out Painting & Decorating within domestic and social housing
Minimum NVQ L2 Painting and Decorating
This is a programme team specialising in bathroom fitting so associated tasks like tiling, grouting, plaster patching and other associated carpentry skills would be useful
Working hours:
40 hours per week
Monday to Friday
