Outreach Worker

Our client, based in East London, is currently recruiting for an Outreach Worker on a temporary contract for two months. Our client started as a tiny volunteer-led Sussex-based organisation and now is a nationwide charity that helps tens of thousands of people each day.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.

The ideal candidate will have flexibility with regards to committing to outreach shifts.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Provide support to a caseload of 20 complex needs clients suffering from homelessness, mental health and substance misuse
• Promote the organisation and speak to new referrals in the North London area
• Deliver advice on accommodation and the properties available within supported accommodation and privately rented accommodation
• Make initial assessments of clients and signpost to other organisations accordingly
• Delivering harm reduction techniques to service users and the wider community
• Provide housing, welfare and benefits advice in order to promote tenancy sustainment

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• Flexibility to be able to commit to 6am starts
• Experience carrying out support plans and risk assessments in outreach setting

Working hours:

• 35 hours per week
• Monday – Friday 9am-5pm
