Job description

We are currently working in partnership with an esteemed Housing Association based in Staffordshire, who are recruiting for a Neighbourhood Officer.

They are looking for someone to join their positive and supportive team on a six-month fixed term contract. The annual salary for this role is £33,016.43.

The ideal candidate will have a Basic DBS certificate dated within 12 months, and have access to a vehicle. They will have had experience in the housing sector, have previously worked alongside clients to sustain tenancies and be able to manage ‘high-risk’ situations.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Conducting home visits to a patch of properties across Staffordshire (and on occasion, Shropshire)

  • Dealing with low-level breaches of tenancies

  • Managing customers‘ basic needs and offering one-to-one advice

  • Aiding tenants with a range of complex needs and de-escalating intense situations

  • Maintaining and monitoring records, keeping systems up to date at all times

  • Writing reports low-level ASB behaviour and following up with appropriate action

  • Liaising with external agencies such as the Police, councils and support services to offer tenants tailored guidance

  • Conducting risk assessments including fire assessments and safeguarding

  • Aiming to decrease tenancy turnovers

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing

  • Experience working with customers within housing

  • Conducting risk assessments

  • Offering attentive support and guidance

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Knowledge of housing legislation and how to enforce it

  • Proactive in identifying vulnerable groups or individuals
