Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a small housing association, who are looking to appoint a Maintenance Team Leader on a permanent basis.
This will be a full-time position based in East London, with hybrid working (1 day working from home) and a salary of £50,000 - £55,000 per annum.
The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role before, preferably for a small housing provider
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Ensure compliance with Gas Safety, Fire Safety, Electricals Safety, Legionella, Asbestos management, Lift safety – and any additional regulatory requirements
Take lead on Capital Works projects - refurbishments of internal and external domestic properties and full responsibility for a range of external contractors on site
Management of cyclical and major works programme
Assist with procurement of new contracts as required
Ensure adherence to Health and Safety legislative practice applicable to Social Housing Properties
Dealing with day-to-day maintenance issues and undertaking routine inspections, liaising with tenants and contractors to ensure works are completed to specified time frames
Provide excellent customer service and deal with any issues in the appropriate way
Produce regular KPI reports for Board and senior management
Experience required:
Experience required in Social Housing
Experience of managing repair and assets service
Experience of managing staff
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Knowledge of compliance and the big 6
A good understanding of legislation and regulation affecting property management
Knowledge of strategies to manage high performance through people and contractors
