Job description

Our client, based in South Wales is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Officer on a temporary contract for 18 months, which is highly likely to be extended beyond this.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is circa £20 – £25 per hour, paid through an Umbrella Company.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the management of trade operatives, and have a strong understanding of the Social Housing sector.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Leading a team of Maintenance Operatives in the administration, co-ordination and supervision in a full range of programmed maintenance, including WHQS works, Void Maintenance, and Adaptation works

  • Monitoring the Maintenance Operatives’ performance and productivity and addressing issues to ensure the highest standards of performance

  • Providing dedicated responses to the investigation of disrepair claims, and damp and mould reports

  • Producing surveys and action plans in relation to remedying the reports raised on disrepair, damp and mould

  • Undertaking domestic property surveys where required to identify the scope of works required to meet pre-defined standards

  • Engaging with sub-contractors, suppliers and specialist contractors to complete associated works where required

  • Assisting with the development, maintenance and updating of the Council’s asset management systems

Experience required:

  • Social Housing Experience

  • Management of trade operatives

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • HNC or HND is desirable
