Job description

We are proud to be partnering with a Local Government based in the East Midlands, who are looking to appoint a new Lettings Officer to join their passionate and driven team on a temporary basis.

This will be a full-time contract lasting for three months, due to start as soon as possible. It is a hybrid role, offering one to two days working from home per week.

The ideal candidate will hold a full UK Driving License, have access to a vehicle and hold an Enhanced DBS certificate dated within the last 3 years.

The hourly rate for this position £21.00 per hour via an Umbrella Company, which is negotiable depending on experience.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensuring the Housing Register is accurate and up to date by effectively assessing Housing Applications from customers seeking re-housing in the district

  • Allocating vacant properties efficiently, in accordance with established policies and procedures including the completion of pre-tenancy checks and other assessment processes

  • Undertaking home visits, property inspections and accompanied viewings as necessary for the purpose of managing the Housing Register

  • Completing tenancy assignments, successions and other tenancy changes, in accordance with procedural requirements

  • Advising and assisting tenants seeking a mutual exchange, facilitating the advertising of properties and providing advice regards the exchange process

  • Ensuring that all Health & Safety legislation requirements are met and the relevant arrangements and procedures are implemented

  • Demonstrating a commitment to the delivery of excellent service for all customers and service users

Experience required:

  • Managing Lettings and Allocations

  • Tenancy management and practice

  • Working directly with the public

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Risk assessment and management

  • Knowledge on legislation, regulation and procedures relating to Lettings

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines

  • Monday – Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm
