Job description

We are currently working with a Housing Association who are looking for a Leasehold Officer on a permanent contract to be based out of their Derbyshire site.

The role is a full-time hybrid position, and is due to start as soon as possible.

Our client is looking for candidates with experience working within social housing, managing leasehold properties and have their own vehicle with a full UK Driving License.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Producing and developing effective processes and policies for the management of our leasehold properties

  • Responding to permission requests in line with the requirements of the property lease and requirements from internal teams

  • Carrying out regular site visits and actioning any potential repairs to communal areas, and/or areas for improvements to groundworks and communal spaces

  • Responsible for third party estate management companies and ensuring they are delivering cost effective services for customers

  • Working with the Service Charge Accountant to ensure service charges are correctly applied to leases

  • Dealing with customer boundary enquiries and neighbour/property matters

  • Dealing with day-to-day enquiries (issuing copies of documents, amending agreements, clarifying repair responsibilities)

  • Managing breaches to leases (i.e., subletting)

  • Responsible for the administration of Section 20 repairs including consulting with customers, obtaining relevant quotations, and ensuring costs are passed to customers and reclaimed where appropriate

Experience required:

  • Experience of customer consultation and customer communications

  • Experience of developing policies and procedures

  • Minimum two years’ experience within the sector etc.

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Sound knowledge of legislative and regulatory expectations of the sector, and best practice relating to leaseholder management

  • Ability to innovate to deliver continuous service improvement

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
