Learning & Development Adviser

Our client, an award winning employer based in Bedfordshire, is currently recruiting for a Learning & Development Adviser on an initial 6 month FTC.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation who in addition to providing an attractive salary package (£30,000 – £35,000pa), offer many additional benefits including flexi-time and home working, 28 days annual holiday (plus bank holidays), contributory pension and medical cover.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Responsible for the delivery of learning and development programmes for staff and managers which are aligned to meet organisational and individual needs
  • Ensuring learning events are timely, focused, relevant and provide value for money
  • Plan and assess the ‘return on investment’ of any learning or development programmes
  • Support managers across the business to identify Learning and Development needs analysis within their teams and identify, tailor and implement modern and creative L&D solutions for the needs of a diverse and remote workforce
  • Engage the business with the Learning Management System (LMS) as a learning resource and promote usage and maximise functionality
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure compliance with all mandatory training with regular business engagement and management reporting
  • Identify and make service improvements to embed L&D processes
  • Working with Communications Team colleagues, create an L&D communications plan to promote engagement with the L&D offer and understanding of management responsibilities
  • Work with HR team, supporting on-boarding of new starters to ensure L&D requirements are being met within probation period timescales
  • Liaison with external training providers and internal subject matter experts who regularly deliver compliance training
  • Produce regular L&D stats reporting (from both LMS and HR systems) and draft supporting narrative for management reports
  • Management and monitoring of the central L&D budget, with monthly Finance reviews
  • Implement apprentice proposals, working with providers and internal mentors to ensure this is working effectively
  • Implement professional development qualifications where authorised, putting training agreements in place
  • Support implementation of new L&D evaluation tools through the HR system and embed in the business to be able to more effectively assess L&D ROI
  • Undertake all aspects L&D admin, including but not limited to; raising / authorising L&D purchase orders, procurement of L&D suppliers, booking trainers, scheduling training dates on HR system, checking attendance, reporting on training stats etc.

Your background:

  • Experienced L&D professional with L&D qualification
  • Delivery focused and hands on
  • Experience of working with different internal and external stakeholders to provide a range of creative and modern L&D solutions
  • Collaborative approach
  • Experienced in working with managers with TNA within their teams and to support them to take ownership for supporting their employees performance
  • Systems orientated
