Job description

We are delighted to be representing a local government, based in Surrey, who are looking to appoint a new Learning & Development Specialist on a permanent basis.

This will be a full-time position, with hybrid working (2/3 days home working), a salary of £36,298 to £41,496 per annum and 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays.

The client is looking for someone with a strong understanding of implementing new induction processes as well as an extensive experience working with LMS’s.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing a high quality, comprehensive and professional business partnering service with each of our directorates at all levels, to identify critical training needs and agree resolutions within budget

  • Developing and delivering a range of training materials, courses and resources to support both the manager community and all of the employees to meet corporate and directorate objectives

  • Outsourcing training, manage the procurement process, costs (within budget) and suppliers by effectively scoping, negotiating and commissioning training programmes in line with the procurement and financial guidelines

  • Promoting apprenticeships and implementing them to benefit both the individuals and the organisation, maximising the use of the apprenticeship levy

  • Managing and developing our Learning Management System (Cornerstone), promoting the resources and increasing utilisation of all resources available

  • Contributing to the training Management Information Statistics (MIS) and reports to inform and provide analysis of performance across both directorates and organisation

Experience required:

  • Implementing all aspects of end-to-end learning cycle

  • Stakeholder management

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Design and delivery of training courses

  • Ability to undertake learning analysis

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
